Lillyville was the terminal main station for Pittsburgh, PA. It is located about 5 miles east of Ellicott City, and about 45 miles north of Pittsburgh. East of here, there was a hardened L4 route to Finland, PA serving Philadelphia, and extending east from there to intersect the north-south L4 route at Cherryville, NJ. The L5 system started here and extended west to Hillsboro, MO. The aboveground buildings and the belowground structure are separated by a public road. A new separate power feed has been recently installed for the underground structure to accommodate new tenants.
There are the usual 3 nuclear blast detectors spaced around the property. The cable markers in the area are still the old original transcontinental markers, hence it does not appear that the site is in use for fiber optic systems.
The site is advertised for rent with 16,500 square feet of underground space.
